What is a dash cam, and why do I need one?

A dash cam is a small camera installed in your vehicle to record video footage while driving. It provides evidence in case of accidents, road disputes, or insurance claims, and helps enhance overall safety.

Do all of your cameras come with installation?

Yes, all our dash cam prices include professional installation to ensure proper setup and reliable performance.

Which dash camera is the best for my car?

It will depend on your needs and your budget. We have affordable cameras, all the way to the highest end brands. For daily driving, a dual-channel camera (front & rear) is recommended. For rideshare or commercial use, a 3-channel camera with interior recording is highly recommended.

Do you offer mirror replacement dash cams?

Yes absolutely. We offer the most advanced mirror-style dash cams like the Wolfbox G900 Pro and Pelsee P12 Pro which combine OEM looks, style and a full 12" touch screen monitor.

How much storage is included with the dash cam?

Most LA DASH CAMS include a 32GB–64GB SD card. Some models support up to 256GB or SSDs for extended recording.

I want a camera for a leased vehicle, is your installation easily reversible?

We offer free un-installation for any dash camera purchased from us. Just give us a call and schedule an un-installation appointment.

Do your cameras support WiFi?

Yes, most of our cameras are WiFi-enabled which allows you to transfer videos at a much higher rate of speed (versus Bluetooth) to your smartphone. You can also make on-the-fly changes to any settings in the app.

How long does a typical dash camera installation take?

On average, most cars/trucks/SUV's take about 2 hours depending on the camera type and vehicle model (luxury vehicles and large SUV's/Motorhomes can take up to 3 hours). We have a waiting room with a Roku TV, snacks and a fully stocked refrigerator for you to wait while your vehicle is being worked on.

What is Parking Mode and how does it work?

Parking Mode records footage when your vehicle is parked, detecting motion or impacts to protect against vandalism or hit-and-run incidents.

Do you offer same-day installation?

Yes, we can offer same-day installation depending on which cameras we have in stock. You can contact customer service at (818) 527-6074 to see if we have any same-day installations available.

Do your cameras have GPS?

Many of our models include built-in GPS to record your driving route, location, and speed.

Do your dash cams support ADAS?

Yes, certain models include ADAS features such as lane departure warning and forward collision alerts for added safety.

What is BSD (Blind Spot Detection)?

BSD alerts you when a vehicle enters your blind spot, a feature available in our advanced mirror dash cam models.

Can I install the dash cam myself?

Absolutely! But if you feel uncomfortable, let our team professionally install it for you to get maximum performance and visibility.

Will my dash cam record even when the car is off?

Yes, with Parking Mode enabled and hardwired, your dash cam will monitor your vehicle 24/7.

Do I need to drop off my vehicle for installation?

Absolutely not! Most vehicles take an average of 2 hours. We have a comfortable waiting room with Roku TV, a fully stock refrigerator, and a snack bar while you wait for your vehicle to be finished. Free WiFi is also available to you.

I already have a rear camera, do I need another one?

You're probably thinking of your factory backup camera which is only designed for assistance in backing up. It does NOT record and unfortunately we cannot tap into it for signal. If you have an older vehicle with no factory backup camera, we recommend our mirror replacement camera which doubles as a backup camera + dash cam.

Is there a warranty on your cameras?

Each manufacturer carries their own warranty period and we recommend you register your camera once it is installed. Our LA Dash Cams branded camera and hardwire kit comes with an 18-month warranty (1 year on memory card) and a 3 month labor guarantee. If the camera ever falls off or needs reattachment (added/removal of tint or windshield replacement), we will reattach it for free! Just schedule an appointment for a camera reattachment.

What if my dash cam stops working?

Contact our support team and we will assist with troubleshooting, replacement, or exchange.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Online we accept secure payments via credit/debit cards, PayPal, and bank transfers. In person, we accept Cash, Venmo, Apple Pay, credit/debit, and CashApp.
